No White Party gay festival for KL, organiser confirms

KUALA LUMPUR — The producer of a gay festival in Thailand has denied reports that a similar event will be held in Malaysia on Sept 30, as was previously claimed by certain parties.
Blue Satittammanoon, a representative of Cloud 9 Inc, which produces the White Party Bangkok, said the festival would only be held in Bangkok, Thailand, and not in other countries.
“Cloud 9 holds the White Party franchise in Asia and has no intention of bringing the event to Malaysia," he said in an email on Friday (Sept 22). "There is no White Party festival as claimed in the press in any part of Malaysia on Sept 30, or any (other) time.”
News on the purported gay gathering had spread on certain messaging apps and other online sites over the last week.
Mr Satittammanoon said Cloud 9 wished to set the record straight, as such a claim had appeared to be accepted as true.
He said he hoped that the clarification would clear the air and end the spread of the false news on social media and other publications. NEW STRAITS TIMES
