KUALA LUMPUR — A road rage incident, sparked by a feud between a car driver and a motorcyclist, ended in the death of a 19-year-old woman.

The incident occurred along the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway, after the Sungai Besi toll plaza at 1pm on Tuesday (Aug 22).

It is understood that an argument had broken out between the driver of the car and the motorcyclist, who had a female pillion rider with him.

Witnesses said the motorcyclist, 23, had lashed out in anger and kicked the car’s passenger side mirror.

This, in turn, enraged the driver of the car, who then swerved his car in the direction of the bike. The car struck the bike, causing both riders to fall off.

Witnesses said the car then ran over the pillion rider.

She was identified as 19-year-old Mimi Zulaika Razib, from Kuala Lumpur. Mimi was rushed to the UKM Medical Centre, where she later died of her injuries.

The motorcycle rider was warded after sustaining injuries.

The car driver, a 32-year-old private school teacher from Seremban, was taken into police custody.

City Traffic chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nadzri Hussain said the case is being investigated for causing death by dangerous driving. NEW STRAITS TIMES
