Airline President Jarumporn Chotikasathein said the Airbus A340-600 was headed to Bangkok from Tokyo at the time and landed safely.
He said the injured were taken to a hospital.
Mr Jarumporn said in a statement that flight TG641 was carrying 227 passengers, two pilots and 22 crew members.
Thai Airways did not specify the nationalities of those affected or the extent of their injuries.
Airline officials could not be reached for further comment. AP
