Two die when car plunges from car park in Genting Highlands

BENTONG (Malaysia) — Two people were killed when the car they were in plunged from the fourth floor of a multi-storey parking lot in Genting Highlands near here on (Aug 17).

BENTONG (Malaysia) — Two people were killed when the car they were in plunged from the fourth floor of a multi-storey parking lot in Genting Highlands near here on (Aug 17).

The Driver V. Palanisamy, 50, and Chinese national Ming Sanmao, 43, were killed on the spot in the incident, which happened at 4.15am.

Investigations revealed that Palanisamy, a businessman from Sepang in Selangor was driving to the ground floor of the building when he failed to control the Perodua Axia. The vehicle then smashed into the barrier and plunged to the ground.

The car, which landed some 13m below, crashed into a mini park before it turned turtle.

District police chief Superintendent Mohamad Mansor Mohd Nor said both the victims suffered serious head injuries and were pronounced dead upon arrival at the Genting Highlands clinic. NEW STRAITS TIMES
