STOCKHOLM — Swedish rescue workers say that an apartment building fire has forced the evacuation of more than 150 people as the blaze raged on the top floor, spreading from end to end along the 60-metre long building.

Fire department officer Gunnar Hansson says no one was seriously injured in the fire in Huskvarna, near the southern city of Jonkoping, but that three people were hospitalized for minor smoke inhalation.

Hansson said the fire began Sunday evening (May 1) and lasted until Monday morning. He said that the flames largely burned themselves out on the top of the five-story concrete building and didn’t spread to lower floors.

Officials were investigating the cause of the fire. AP
