Guam Facebook user arrested after online comments

HAGATNA — A man has been accused of terrorizing in Guam after a comment posted on Facebook appeared to suggest killing police officers.

HAGATNA — A man has been accused of terrorizing in Guam after a comment posted on Facebook appeared to suggest killing police officers.

The man was arrested Tuesday (Dec 16), the Pacific Daily News reported.

The case started with a video posted to Facebook that showed police officers responding to a disturbance in Harmon. A comment on the video seems to suggest that viewers should check the officers’ names and kill them when they got off work.

Police say they connected a man to the Facebook account that posted the comment and arrested him.

“This threat was taken seriously as the comments were made to all the officers who actively patrol the respective area,” said Officer Paul Tapao, Guam Police Department spokesman.

Threats against officers and first responders “will not be tolerated,” Mr Tapao added.

The Facebook user was booked into jail. AP
