At $800++ For 2 Pax, This 3D2N Wellness Staycation Will Take Care Of All Your Meals, Workouts & Even Meditation Sessions

Book a staycation to work out? But, hey, at least all meals are included too.

Let’s be honest: Taking time off for yourself isn’t that easy, whether you’ve been putting off that yoga session, or perhaps you've just been making unhealthy food choices ’cos life got in the way. What if there was someone to plan it all for you — and you get to luxuriate in a swish hotel room while you’re at it?

There’s a staycay where you can take it slow, sweat it out, recharge and recalibrate, and not have to plan a single thing — not even what you eat.

The BreakAway staycation is a 3D2N wellness retreat happening at Sofitel Singapore City Centre, which has collaborated with Virgin Active Singapore to bring a curated programme of wellness and fitness activities so you leave feeling rejuvenated. The package, priced at $800++ for two, also includes a full board of curated menus from the hotel’s restaurants, so you get bang for your buck.

What’s the catch? The staycay package is only happening from Oct 14 to 16. Bookings are already open (book here).

We got a preview and tell you exactly what to expect on your wellness jaunt.

What you get for $800++ for two adults at the BreakAway staycation:

#1: A 48-hour stay in a Luxury Room at Sofitel Singapore City Centre. Check in is at 3pm on Oct 14, and check out is at 3pm on Oct 16, so you can maximise your #selfcare time.

#2: Full board of meals during your stay. Eating right on vacay — or a staycay — is always a challenge. But not in this case. All meals are included in the package, and the dishes selected are clean-tasting as they are delish. There are Chinese and French cuisine choices for lunch and dinner — so you can savour a double boiled herbal chicken soup or French onion soup if you so wish.

Of course, no hotel stay is complete without breakfast — the hotel’s extensive choices at the daily buffet breakfast (yes, buffet breakfasts are back!) means you can have everything from omelettes to kueh to start your days here.

#3: Wellness and fitness activities by Virgin Active instructors. If you’ve always wanted to kickstart your fitness and wellness journey but always found yourself cancelling classes at the eleventh hour, perhaps this will help. A whole host of fitness and wellness activities are planned for you during the BreakAway.

It starts slow on Day 1 to help you ease into staycay mode. An hour-long sound bath therapy session is conducted with singing bowls to help soothe those nerves and lull you into a deep relaxation. Caution: You may drift off into dreamland during the session.

Day 2 starts bright and early with a dynamic yoga class on the lawn, located right next to the pool. It’s a silent yoga session of sorts — you get a pair of headphones to get lost in the music and, er, the instructor’s calming voice piping through.

There’s something different about doing yoga in the outdoors, whether it’s the fresh morning air, the views, or a combination of both. Being out on the grass, instead of a studio’s hard floors, also heightens your awareness of your poses and the body. Overall, a great way to start the day, as you leave energised and ready for… brekkie downstairs, or for a morning of exploring the plethora of cafes in the Tanjong Pagar vicinity.

There's a Bootcamp Circuit training session lined up later in the day. You’ll definitely work up a sweat in the hour-long heart-pumping HIIT workout that takes you through various stations working different parts of the body. Kettlebell snatches? Check. Butt firming lunges? Check. Feel the burn? Definitely.

What your muscles will be happy to know is that, while there isn’t a spa or massage included in the package, the activities post- bootcamp are designed to help you unwind, relax and sleep like a baby. Specifically, a sleep meditation therapy session just before bedtime where an instructor guides you through a calming relaxation technique to help ease insomnia and quiet the mind. For meditation newbies, this might take a while to get used to, but you’ll get there by the end of the half-hour sesh.

#4: More workouts and wellness, please. The staycation package also includes a three-day access pass to Virgin Active. So if you’re still raring to go and want to pack in a couple more workouts — or perhaps a snooze in one of Virgin Active’s sleep pods — all you have to do is to slink over to its Tanjong Pagar outpost, which is connected to the hotel.

#5: Wellness perks. To truly help you wind down, each booking also comes with a L’Occitane Verbene Body Salt Scrub that you can enjoy in the comfort of the hotel room or at home, plus a 20 per cent discount on F&B at Racines as well.

Sofitel Singapore City Centre is at 9 Wallich Street.
