Cheryl Wee Says Her 2-Year-Old Daughter Thinks Her Husband’s Name Is “Sir Roy” 'Cos That’s How Their Domestic Helpers Address Him
A very cute misunderstanding.
Now this is one regal-sounding name.
In a recent post on IG, Cheryl Wee, 34, shared that they recently held birthday celebrations for her husband, architect turned Jean Yip Group employee Roy Fong. Or should we say, Sir Roy?
In her post, Cheryl shared some pictures of their celebration, revealing that they’d received a chocolate tart with the message: “Happy birthday Sir Roy!” written on it. So, what’s the story behind the name?
Did Emma address him as Sir Roy here too?
As it turns out, the couple’s second child, two-year-old Emma, is under the impression that Roy’s name is actually “Sir Roy”. Say whaaat?!
"Whenever Roy ask[s] Emma what is your papa’s name, she’ll say “Sir Roy” in the cutest kiddy voice/pronunciation (sic),” Cheryl wrote in her caption.
She went on to share that the misunderstanding came about ‘cos the family’s helpers always address Roy as “Sir Roy”. So now, Emma thinks that her dad’s full name is, well, Sir Roy.
Isn’t that cute? And in any case, it sure makes for a better nickname than “Dada" or “Papa”, right?
Cheryl and Roy tied the knot in 2017, and have three children together —3-year-old Marc, Emma, and 4-month-old Elly.
