Chinese Star Yang Chaoyue Was Once Bullied By A Classmate Who Slapped Her So Hard, Her Mouth Was “Filled With Blood"
The singer-actress encouraged those who are bullied to speak up about their situation.
Chinese singer-actress Yang Chaoyue, 23, saw her popularity skyrocket after finishing third in talent search Produce 101 in 2018 and she now has over 18.4mil followers on Weibo.
However, there was a period of time where Chaoyue didn't feel popular at all. In a recent live stream, she revealed that she was actually bullied in her youth.
Chaoyue said that she was someone who didn’t exactly have a personality that endeared others to her. She added that she wasn’t pretty growing up, and described herself as a child that had a “bad personality, and talked a lot of nonsense”.
She revealed that she never backed down from an argument, and once she dared a male classmate to “hit [her]” after getting into a verbal spat with him.
Violence is never the answer
Believe it or not, her classmate actually did slap her, and he did it with so much force that her mouth was “filled with blood”.
She also added that she got into a separate argument with another male classmate after accidentally hitting his desk. Eventually, said classmate ended up kicking her square in the chest after they exchanged heated words.
Chaoyue added that she’s the type to “retaliate".
“Why is it that those who are bullied in school, never retaliate even when hit?” she questioned in anger, adding: “I can’t win when [fighting] with a bunch of people, but [this doesn’t mean] that I won’t be able to at least bite one person and cause the other side to suffer a loss too”.
She'll stand up for herself
However, there were moments where she felt weak when facing up to the bullies.
She recalled feeling helpless when her classmates ganged up to ostracise her, making it so that she didn’t have a seat on the school bus.
However, in such situations, Chaoyue urged those who are bullied to approach their parents or teachers for help, adding that they should not attempt to endure things silently.
“I feel that remaining silent will only help the darkness permeate your world,” she said.
