Cynthia Koh Makes Police Report After Her Mercedes Was Vandalised

The actress says she does not intend to let this issue go.

On April 7, Mediacorp actress Cynthia Koh, 48, took to her Instagram Story to share a series of updates, revealing that her car had been willfully damaged by someone the day before.

Cynthia shared that her car, a red Mercedes, was parked at a private estate between 2 to 6pm. It was her first time parking in that area, and yet, her car was vandalised in broad daylight.

Why would someone do this?!

Apart from a number of “very long and deep scratches” spanning across three panels of her car that she suspected was inflicted with “a key or something very sharp”, Cynthia also discovered that one of her tyres had been punctured.

The actress initially tried driving her car to the nearest gas station to refill the air in her tyre, but eventually gave up as her tyre was completely flat by then.

At 10:30pm that night, she called a tow truck, before heading to a police station to make a report.

“I won’t let this go, too many of this type of people around. If you are a car owner, you will know how upset I am. It’s not about fixing the car, it’s about how sickening these people can be to think it’s okay to do this to others. If you can do this, I’m sure you can face the consequences,” she wrote.

She also went on to share the possible punishments that await the culprit, writing that vandalism “is a serious crime”.

As she estimates the repairs for her car will cost over $500, the culprit is looking at a maximum two year jail term or a fine, or both.

Cynthia also addressed the culprit, writing: “I'm open to settling this privately if you happen to read this… Otherwise, I’m very sure the police investigation will bring this to light."

The actress later shared a snippet of a conversation she had with a follower who had identified himself as a former police officer.

He appeared to be advising Cynthia to let the matter rest, as it would be “cheaper" to just forget about it.

However, Cynthia said she would not be doing so as she does not want to “turn a blind eye” to these crimes. She also shared that she has spoken to a lawyer to find out more about the possible actions she can take against the culprit.

When reached for a comment, Cynthia declined to comment more, as the incident is now under police investigation.

"I’m sorry that I can only reveal as much as what you saw on [my] IG [story]. All I can say is the officer in charge is working on it .Thank you for the love,” she wrote.

Cynthia is nominated for the Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in My Star Bride, as well as the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes award at Star Awards 2022.
