7-Eleven S’pore Sells Ready-To-Eat Korean Army Stew, Kimchi Jjigae & Bibimbap From $3.90

For your Korea holiday withdrawal symptoms.

In April this year, convenience store chain 7-Eleven Singapore took us grounded folks on a ‘trip’ to Japan with a selection of Japanese-themed snacks, like a Pablo Cheese Tart roll cake. Now, it’s offering more deli items from overseas under its 7-Select food range. The new limited-edition selection rides on the Hallyu wave trend with K-drama-friendly bites like kimchi jjigae, jjajangmyeon and tteokbokki.

Here’s what you can get:

1 of 5 Bibimbap, $3.90

One of Korea’s most famous exports, 7-Eleven’s version of Bibimbap is a rice bowl blanketed with spicy chicken chunks, a sunny side up egg, kimchi and other veggies like mushrooms and carrots. At under $4, this is one of the lowest-priced bibimbaps on our island (yep, even cheaper than Korean hawker stalls, which typically sells bibimbap at around $5 a bowl).

2 of 5 Korean Army Stew, $4.50

Still obsessed over Crash Landing on You? You may want to try this Korean Army Stew, which is filled with marinated chicken, noodles, veggies and tofu. Hyun Bin not included.

3 of 5 Kimchi Jiggae, $4.50

The classic Korean spicy tofu and kimchi stew comes in a handy microwaveable tray here. The chicken broth is spiked with gochujang and comes with a side of rice. Ideal for supper, now that prata outings are off the table.

  • 4 of 5 Jajangmyeon, $4

This fuss-free noodle dish comes with egg noodles tossed with chunjang (Korean black bean paste) and spring onions.

  • 5 of 5 Korean Spicy Rice Cakes (Tteokbokki), $3.20

While this is not a new item, the relaunched Korean Spicy Rice Cakes with a gochujang sauce are now directly imported from Korea. Other light snacks include a Kimchi Chicken and Omelette Sandwich ($3.50) and Chicken Bulgogi Wrap ($2.90).

All items available at 7-Eleven Singapore outlets from now till June 22, while stocks last. www.7-eleven.com.sg.
