Miss the charming konbini (convenience store) experience in Japan during your travelling days in what seems like a lifetime ago? Well, 7-Eleven Singapore has introduced a slew of 15 limited-edition Japanese-themed snacks under its 7-Select brand for you to nibble away your sorrows. This includes a matcha Softee, oden and oyako don. But most exciting on the list is perhaps 7-Eleven’s special collaboration with Osaka brand, Pablo Cheese Tart. For those who miss its cafes in Singapore which closed down back in 2019, this is for you. Here are some of the highlights.

1 of 6 7-Select x Pablo Cheese Swiss Roll Cake, $3.30

Alas, no cheese tarts offered in this 7-Eleven collab. Instead, you get a Japan-imported soft roll cake bundled with a smear of Pablo’s famous cream cheese.

2 of 6 7-Select x Pablo Apricot Jelly and Cheese Cream Puff, $3.30

Choux puff pastry pumped with more of Pablo’s signature cream cheese, plus apricot jelly.

3 of 6 7-Select Oyakodon, $4.50

Moving onto 7-Eleven’s new savoury Japanese offerings, here is a convenient bowl of oyakodon. Chicken chunks, onions and egg simmered in a dashi-based sauce of dried kelp and bonito flakes, served on rice.

  • 4 of 6 7-Select Sakura Ebi Onigiri, $2.20; $6 for three

Sakura flower-marinated rice ball speckled with dried shrimp and edamame beans, then topped with prawn tempura.

  • 5 of 6 Matcha Mr Softee, $1.50

Mr Softee’s signature creamy soft-serve coupled with the bitter fragrance of green tea powder. Sounds promising.

  • 6 of 6 Some of the other new items on offer

    There’s oden and omusoba, too.

All items available while stocks last. Visit www.7-eleven.com.sg for more info.
