Perhaps inspired by Guinness Potato Chips’ stout-flavoured snack, Singapore’s very own Tiger Beer is launching its own tidbit too: “the nation’s first satay flavoured potato chips, a snack that pairs perfectly with an ice cold pint of Tiger Beer”. The limited-edition chips will only be available from October 1 to November 1, as a freebie with every purchase of a 10-pack set of Tiger Beer cans.

Well, we’ve yet to try it, but according to its press release, it’s marinated with “subtle notes of smoky goodness and cooked with a crunchy finish”.

Also, why satay and not, say, Tiger beer-flavoured chips? The brand's rep says this hawker fave is in line with its role as champion of Singapore’s local street food heritage. And also, beer-flavoured chips doesn’t sound quite as appetising as a satay-spiked one, we suppose.

Whether or not these crisps effectively recreate the shiok flavour bomb of dunking a meaty, juicy skewer into rich and spicy peanut sauce remains to be seen (watch this space for our review).

Incidentally, these chips were first launched in Malaysia earlier this year — but it'll only make its debut in Singapore on October 1.
