Why Eat Hotdogs When You Can Have These Uni & Ikura Sushi Dogs?

There’s also a negitoro option.
The hotdog sushi — we’re both thrilled and slightly scandalised by this offering from casual Japanese eatery Amazing Hokkaido in Robertson Quay. Is it a genius idea? Or plain gimmicky? Maybe a bit of both. But we sure don’t mind sinking our teeth into some. The sushi dogs, each the size of an actual smallish hotdog (10cm-long), go at a promotional price of $12 each till 11 February (it usually costs more than double the price, see below).

Think a large open-face sushi roll of vinegary sushi rice wrapped in toasted seaweed, then crowned with bafun uni slathered with soy sauce and shiny salmon roe.

Prefer tuna? Get the Negitoro Dog topped with chopped fatty toro (tuna belly meat) and salmon roe as well. But there’s a catch: each customer is limited to one order of either the Uni Dog or Negitoro Dog only.

Promo prices available till 11 Feb. Amazing Hokkaido is at #01-16 Riverside View, 30 Robertson Quay, S238251. Open daily except Tue 5.30pm - 11pm. Tel: 6235 0212. https://www.facebook.com/Amazinghokkaidosg/.
