A Preview Of Pizza Hut’s Limited-Edition Cheesy 7 Chicken Luncheon Meat Pie

We’re still reeling from Pizza Hut’s limited-edition Cheesy 7 Durian Pizza last year. The pongy, off-the-wall – but strangely quite yummy – concoction was created to celebrate the 10th birthday of Pizza Hut’s Cheesy 7 Pizza. This time, the hut is launching a pizza that’s a little more conventional: the Cheesy 7 Chicken Luncheon Pizza.

It will be available from September 20 to October 31 (while stocks last) at $25.90 for nine inches, the same price as the Cheesy 7 Original and Cheesy 7 Hawaiian.

The Cheesy 7 Chicken Luncheon Pizza is an all-new creation that comes loaded with provolone, mozzarella, gouda, cheddar, monterey jack, romano, parmesan and cream cheese – eight cheeses in all, or “seven plus one” as how the brand puts it. It’s topped with strips of chicken luncheon meat, turkey bacon and button mushrooms, along with a splash of chilli sauce. 8days.sg got our hands on a pie ahead of its launch.

Our pizza arrived piping hot, which gave us the opportunity to get a good pic for the ’gram. The mix of eight cheeses offer an interplay of salty, gooey richness that’s easy to enjoy. We especially liked the occasional tangy burst from the squares of cream cheese. The crust isn’t something to toss away either — it boasts a yummy cheddar-crusted crunchy edge. As for the toppings, they come together pleasantly enough — the strips of chicken luncheon meat, crisp from the oven, provide some nostalgia-tinged savouriness alongside juicy button mushrooms and diced tomatoes.

However we weren’t as fond of the sweet chilli sauce, which was somewhat jarring against the salty components like the cheeses and turkey bacon.

Quite yummy, though we could do without the sweet chilli sauce. It’s certainly a pizza that will probably be more crowd-friendly than last year’s polarising cheesy durian version.

Pizza Hut’s Cheesy 7 Chicken Luncheon pizza is available for dine-in, takeaway or delivery from Sept 20 till Oct 31 at all Pizza Hut outlets.
