Gigi Leung Had A Gracious Response To Radio DJ Who Called Her Concert “Bad” And “Ridiculous”

The DJ really did not mince his words, saying that the gig felt like a karaoke session, and that the concert flow, song arrangement, choreography as well as Gigi’s singing were all bad.

A Hong Kong radio DJ has found himself in the spotlight after a screenshot of his post on his personal Facebook account was made public.

The DJ, Pitar Leung, 37, was one of many in attendance at the first day of Hong Kong singer Gigi Leung’s three-day Hong Kong Coliseum concert, which ended on February 19.

While he appeared to be outwardly supportive of Gigi, posting a picture of the 46-year-old in a red dress and praising her for her beauty on his Instagram Story, his Facebook post was markedly different.

Pitar really did not filter his thoughts.

Sharing the exact same picture of Gigi on his Facebook, Pitar unleashed criticism after criticism upon the singer.

“The flow was bad, the song arrangement was bad, the choreography was bad, and of course, the singing was bad. I was already mentally prepared, but I never thought that it would be so ridiculous. It’s just like a karaoke session!” he wrote.

Pitar went on to write that he was fidgeting throughout the entire concert 'cos it was just so bad.

“The only thing I can praise is that her short hair is really nice and it really suits her, she has a good figure, and can carry these ugly clothes,” he continued, before going on to describe Gigi’s red dress as “a tissue paper that was just used to wipe up a nosebleed”. Ouch.

She's a queen.

Unfortunately, it seems like Pitar’s criticism has reached the ears of Gigi, who had this very gracious reply.

“Actually, every production, be it a concert or a movie, there’ll be people who like it, and those who don’t. Everyone has their own expectations and standards, and I think that’s fine. I agree that I still have much to improve on, but it’s okay, I will continue on. I still have time to improve, so I hope that everyone will grant me that time for me to improve and continue doing better,” she said in an interview after her concert on February 19.

When reporters went on to ask Gigi directly for her thoughts on Pitar’s post, Gigi replied: “I don’t think this isn’t really [relevant] to me. I’ll just do my job well, and hope that those who come to see me will like it, and that’s enough.”

She also shared that she “never thought about that issue” when asked if it would be awkward when she runs into Pitar while promoting her new songs on radio.
