Godfrey Gao’s dad dies on the eve of the late star’s 4th death anniversary
He was still looking good back in September.
Has it already been four years since Taiwanese actor, Godfrey Gao suddenly left us at the young age of 35?
The actor suffered from cardiac arrest after he collapsed while filming Chinese sports competition show Chase Me for an alleged 17 hours without a break.
On Sunday (Nov 26), Godfrey's older brother Charles Gao announced on social media that their father had passed away on the eve of Godfrey’s death.
Posting a picture of him and his dad sharing a piece of bread on Instagram, Charles wrote in both English and Mandarin, “My dearest dad, if there is still a chance, I hope you can let me be your son again. I love you and hope to see you again.”
It was not lost on many of Godfrey’s fans that it also happened to be the fourth anniversary of the actor’s death, with netizens commenting that “Papa Gao had gone to accompany Godfrey” and that he must have missed his son too much.
Papa Gao was last seen looking relatively healthy a couple of months ago in September. He was with family and friends and Godfrey’s pet pooch Theo at the late star's grave at Jin Bao Shan memorial ground on what would have been his 39th birthday.
