The Philippines is rejoicing over its first Olympic gold in gymnastics after gymnast Carlos Yulo’s historic wins at Paris 2024.

His triumph during the floor final on Saturday (Aug 3) marked the Philippines’ second gold ever after weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz took home gold at the Tokyo Games.

Carlos went on to clinch another gold medal at the vault the next day (Aug 4).

His outstanding performance in Paris will see him receiving 10mil pesos (S$228.4K), a sum promised to all Olympic gold medalists from the Philippines.

Aside from that, reports from the Philippines also revealed that their House of Representatives pledged an extra six million pesos (S$137K) in cash incentives.

Private companies are also jumping in to shower Carlos with fancy gifts as well.

A real estate company in Manila is throwing in another three million pesos (S$68.5K) and a fancy three-bedroom condominium in McKinley Hill.

The estate is nestled in one of Metro Manila’s largest developments.

And no, Carlos won’t need to move into an empty space. A furniture company has offered up to 100K pesos (S$5,142) when the time comes to furnish his new home.

Even restaurants are looking to ensure Carlos never needs to go hungry with many offering lifetime supplies of ramen, mac and cheese, grilled chicken, and buffets.

The most baffling offer has to be a gastroenterologist offering free consultations and colonoscopies for life.

Umm…is a lifetime of the examination necessary?

Even Carlos’ mum is set to benefit from his Olympics achievements. A tour agency announced that they are offering Carlos and his mum a 3D2N trip to Boracay.

We wonder what else will be coming his way?
