HK Actress Kathy Chow, 55, Has A Cracking Response To Netizens Who Say It's A “Pity” She's Stayed Single & Has No Kids

She's just living her best life with her five pet dogs, okay?

Hongkong actress Kathy Chow, known for her roles in TVB drama The Breaking Point (1991) and Chinese drama Ashes of Love (2018), has been living and working in China for about 20 years.

Though the leading lady of HK dramas back in 1990s occasionally still stars in TVB series such as 2013 drama Sniper Standoff, Kathy has made it quite apparent that she now considers Beijing her home, and is extremely happy living there.

In an earlier interview, Kathy recalled how she was mesmerised by the snowy landscape in Beijing while filming there in 2002. She decided to stay in China to pursue her dreams and live her life independently, despite her family and friends not being too keen on the idea.

All she needs are her pets for company

The actress, who currently lives in an expansive villa, is known to be a huge dog lover, and has five furkids. She often shares clips and pictures of her daily life, where she's cooking, gardening and hanging out with her furry friends.

Kathy, who turns 56 this year, says she started taking a more chill approach to life since turning 50, and is very satisfied with her current lifestyle. She’s happy with the freedom she has, and although she is currently single (she was married briefly to Vietnam-born Hongkong actor Ray Lui from 1988 to 1989), she is not actively looking for a relationship and does not feel the need to do so because of societal expectations.

When netizens lamented the fact that Kathy was still single, and commented how it was “a pity” that someone “as pretty as her” was unmarried and had no kids, the actress had a rather humurous response.

“I don’t have a throne to be inherited!” she replied, earning praise from many of her followers.
