How To Win One Of 12,500 Free Air Tickets To Hong Kong That Cathay Pacific Is Giving Out To Singapore Residents

What you need to know to get your best chance at winning free air tickets to Hong Kong.

Hong Kong is giving out free air tickets to the world to welcome tourists back with open arms now that travel restrictions have been lifted. Of the 500,000 air tickets to be given away, 12,500 have been allocated to Singapore residents in a giveaway that runs from Mar 2 to 8.

Yes, you could stand a chance to win a free round-trip Economy Class air ticket for travel between Singapore and Hong Kong if you take part in the giveaway, which is part of the “World of Winners” campaign sponsored by the Airport Authority Hong Kong to revive tourism.

Make no mistake: Competition is going to be stiff for this one. Which is why we've broken down everything you need to know so you can have the best shot at snagging a free ticket to HK in the "World of Winners" campaign.

#1: You need to be a Cathay Pacific member. You can register even before the giveaway kicks off — it’s free to sign up on the airline’s website. Your Cathay Pacific profile name must match your name in your passport.

#2: You’ll need to be quick. The giveaway for Singapore residents runs from 12pm on Mar 2 to 11.59pm on Mar 8, so set your alarms. This is probably one of the most crucial steps as you’ll need to be quick to win — the prize will be awarded to the first 12,500 entrants who submit eligible entries.

#3: Here's what you actually need to do. Once the contest period opens, sign in to your Cathay Pacific membership account, and visit the campaign website here to take a quiz. Answer all three questions correctly to be in the running for the prize.

#4: Each member can only submit one entry. Winners will be announced on the campaign website on Mar 20, and receive an e-mail with prize collection deets.

#5: Note the fine print. Such as, winners will still have to pay taxes and surcharges incurred. And there are travel blackout dates that apply. Still, it’s not a bad deal.

It was also previously announced that there are at least one million visitor consumption vouchers given out. Known as “Hong Kong Goodies”, these cover complimentary welcome drinks at participating F&B outlets and hotels, or cash vouchers that can be redeemed in transportation, culinary, retail sectors as well as attractions. A total of over 16,000 outlets across HK are participating.
