“I Want The Attention, Just Like Me Please”: Sings Jacqueline Wong In Comeback Music Video, Which Has Been Panned By Netizens

“Thank you for instantly making me feel talented and gorgeous,” one netizen wrote. Ouch.

Hong Kong actress Jacqueline Wong is back, and boy, are netizens hating it.

The 34-year-old’s new song ‘Crown Me’, which is in English, was released earlier this week on Valentines Day, with Jacqueline doing double duty as the composer and lyricist.

Her boyfriend, who’s the drummer for Cantopop band Rubberband, Lai Man Wang, helped out in the arrangement and production of the song.

She's looking for her crown.

With lyrics like "Crown me flashy, crown me cheap, crown me baby, just crown me please “ and "I want your comments, I want your views, I want the attention, just like me please” it’s clear that Jacqueline knew what she was angling for with the English song.

As we all know, the internet’s not big on forgiving and forgetting. And so, the comments section of the song’s music video was filled with netizens referencing Jacqueline’s cheating scandal.

Guess the internet isn't exactly convinced yet.

"Pretty amazing that you have the cheek to do this and write the lyrics speaking the thoughts of what many think of you. Perhaps you still don’t see anything wrong after all these years,” one netizen wrote.

Others took aim at Jacqueline’s performance, calling it a lacklustre affair.

"This music video is hilarious! Thank you for instantly making me feel talented and gorgeous,” one netizen wrote.

Yet another netizen added: “Even if this is self-financed, you should still know your limits”.

Showing their support.

But that’s not to say that Jacqueline didn’t have her supporters. Though they appeared to be outnumbered by the amount of negative comments, there were some cheering the actress on too.

"A very courageous come back. Best of luck,” one wrote. Another netizen commented: "Congrats! Keep it up! What is life if it isn't a bit naughty?”

Looks like Jacqueline (middle) was always interested in singing.

This is not the first time Jacqueline’s released a song though.

The former TVB actress teamed up with actresses Sisley Choi, Crystal Fung, Veronica Shu and Bowie Cheung in 2017 to release a single ‘I Was Here’. Even back then, there were negative comments about Jacqueline’s performance.

She also sang the theme song for the TVB sitcom Come Home Love: Lo and Behold, ‘In My Heart’, which was used for episodes 225 to 605.
