'I'm very flattered': Peter Yu on Taiwanese website crowning him Singapore’s No.1 actor
Wait... what about Christopher Lee or Mark Lee? 8days.sg hopped onto a quick call with the 55-year-old veteran actor, who is now in Taiwan for the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival.

“Err… What did they say ah?”
That was ex-Mediacorp actor Peter Yu’s hesitant response when we dropped him a quick call to ask about his take on what the Taiwanese media recently wrote about him.
Here is a little backgrounder. On Monday (Nov 6), Taiwanese entertainment site ETToday did a piece on the 55-year-old actor, crowning him "Singapore’s No. 1 actor".

No shade to Peter but our eyebrows did arch a little when we heard the news, considering established Singapore actors like Christopher Lee, who has won Best Actor at the Golden Bell Awards twice, and Golden Horse Award Best Actor nominee Mark Lee were not mentioned in the same breath.
“I am very flattered and I can say that this is my passion and something I really love doing,” he says to 8days.sg.
When asked what Chris and Mark would say should they read the news, he good-naturedly replied, “I wouldn’t know, but I consider them really good colleagues. You probably will need to ask them?”

Peter is flying the Singapore flag high in Taiwan for the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival and Awards, representing his movie Snow in Midsummer, a Malaysia-Singapore-Taiwan co-production.
Is the Taiwanese article foreshadowing something we don’t know yet?
Considering the tough times he went through years ago, we are glad to see him making such an impressive comeback.
Though there have been no offers to star in Taiwanese shows yet, Peter tells 8days.sg he is open to any overseas projects that might come his way.
For now, he will be involved in a Mediacorp drama with details to be shared at a later date.
