Indonesian Star Kriss Hatta, 34, Reveals He Is Dating A 14-Year-Old Actress

Indonesian actor Kriss Hatta recently revealed in a YouTube interview that he’s in a relationship with a newbie actress who’s 20 years his junior.

While May-December romances are a dime a dozen in showbiz —  Hong Kong actor Kevin Cheng is 22 years older than his wife Grace Chan — it must be noted that Kriss is 34, which means that his girlfriend is... yes, 14 years old.

The actor went public with this news last Thursday (Sep 29), but did not say who his girlfriend is.

According to Kriss, his girlfriend’s mother was against him revealing the identity of her daughter. She wished for her daughter to gain fame and recognition through her own hard work, and not through her relationship… though we’re not sure if that should be her primary concern.

After Kriss spoke about the “20 year age gap”, netizens started having discussions about the fact that she is, well, glaringly underage.

Some netizens also drew comparisons to Leonardo DiCaprio, who’s known for dating models who are way younger than he is.

Others also found the news “disgusting” and called for authorities to look into the matter.

The age of consent in Indonesia is 16. Should someone be caught having a sexual relationship with a minor, they may be charged with statutory rape.

The Indonesian Child Protection Commission has since condemned Kriss’ relationship. They released a statement requesting that he break up with his girlfriend, and also urged him to set a good example for other youths.
