Rui En penned a letter to her younger self on her 41st birthday
She wrote: "Dear Younger En, I've been wanting to tell you that I forgive you for all the things you did in survival mode. When you didn't know any better, and were doing the best you could with what you had. It's ok."
"You are beautiful, even though most days you only ever feel ugly and worthless. Back then, you didn't know whose you were, or how even to begin loving yourself. It's ok. When you felt completely alone and engulfed by darkness, you weren't. It's ok. Every single thing you worried about and overthought has worked itself out after all. Everything is absolutely fine. It's ok."
"Finally, you are free."
