James Seah Celebrates First Wedding Anniversary; His Single Colleagues Ask For Ang Pows

We’re less than a week away from Chinese New Year, and for Mediacorp star James Seah, 32, this year’s shaping up to be a little different.

Over on Instagram, the actor shared that last Sunday was his first wedding anniversary.

On January 15 last year, James tied the knot with influencer Nicole Chang Min, 30. The couple, who got engaged in December 2019, had been dating for about six years.

And as per tradition, celebrating one’s first wedding anniversary also means that the couple will start giving out ang pows during Chinese New Year. According to local convention, newlyweds do not give ang pows in their first year of marriage.

One year already?!

"Exactly one year ago… means this year must start giving ang pao liao,” James wrote in his caption.

And of course, some of our local unmarried celebs were quick to ‘pounce' on the opportunity presented to them.

“Can I come to your house for Chinese New Year visiting?” Sheryl Ang asked, while Bonnie Loo opted for the tried-and-true: “Gong Xi Fa Cai, [and] hand over your ang pows”.

Meanwhile, Elvin Ng opted for a more ‘subtle' approach, commenting a simple: “Gong Xi Fa Cai…”. You know, just so that James gets the ‘hint'.

Looks like James is going to have a busy CNY indeed.
