As the daughter of Mandopop star Jay Chou, six-year-old Hathaway definitely has some massive shoes to fill when it comes to being musically talented.
On Monday (Nov 29), Jay shared a photo of Hathaway walking towards a shiny sports car, which Taiwanese media described as his “beloved NT$60mil (about S$3mil) McLaren Senna”.
According to Jay, he had been driving his little girl to her music exams over the past few days, and one of her teachers had used him as an example and told Hathaway that they’re “waiting for her to become like Jay Chou”.
“My status at home has just been elevated again,” he boasted in jest, quipping that it seems he “needs to bring her to take her exams a few more times”.
Some also wondered if the teacher was aware that Jay is Hathaway’s dad. When someone asked Jay if he has ever appeared in front of the teacher, the singer replied: “I’m thinking about it.”
We hope they get the teacher’s reaction on camera if that ever happens.
Both Jay and his wife, Taiwanese-Australian actress Hannah Quinlivan, have shown off Hathaway’s musical skills, which suggest that she’s well on her way to living up to her teacher’s expectations.
The couple's four-year-old son Romeo has also been filmed strumming on a guitar while singing with Jay. Guess it shouldn’t come as a surprise that they’re such a musical family.
