Jeff Wang Visits Dad’s Grave For Qing Ming; Urges Everyone To Spend More Time With Their Parents Before It’s Too Late

The actor shared how much his mum still cares for his dad five years after his death.

As Qingming Festival (it falls on April 5 this year) draws near, a number of families are making the trek back to the final resting places of their loved ones to honour and remember them.

And on March 22, former Mediacorp actor Jeff Wang, 45, shared that he, along with his mother and older sister, visited the graves of his grandparents and dad.

The Taiwanese actor mused that due to COVID-19, it’s been a long time since he visited them, and observed that his mum appeared to be “swaying from side to side” during their walk there.

“My mum said that she knew she was going to visit [Jeff’s dad, her husband], so she didn’t sleep well the night before,” Jeff wrote on Instagram.

“This led me to recall… since my elementary school days, my dad and mum were quick to start quarrels with each other, the only thing they never did was to get physical [during their disagreements],” he wrote.

Jeff went on to reveal that he could never understand why his parents argued so often, and that he felt that there was nothing worth arguing about.

“Five years after [his dad] passed away, I know that you [his mum] still have him in your heart,” he added, before sharing a link to Ray Charles’ classic song, ‘I Can’t Stop Loving You’.

He then ended his post by revealing that he hasn’t had the chance to eat with his mum lately ‘cos she was busy “playing mahjong”.

“Mum insisted on deshelling the prawns for me and my older sister to eat. I don’t know how long more she’ll have to continue deshelling [prawns like this], but in any case, I’ll just try as much as possible to accompany her. Don’t wait till the very end, where you can only settle with the feeling of regret. Wishing everyone a beautiful life,” he wrote.
