JJ Lin Partners MBS To Open S’pore Outlet For His Miracle Coffee Cafe, Teaser Pop-Up from Sept 30

The cafe, which specialises in hand-dripped artisanal coffee, will also offer a Singapore-exclusive beverage called Kaya Cloud.

JJ Lin is bringing Miracle Coffee to Singapore, an artisanal hand-dripped coffee chain which he first opened in Taipei in 2018. The Shanghai outlet he opened the following year attracted fans who queued up for a whopping 14 hours to be the first customers, with scalpers marking up his coffee for an extra $10.

Come the end of this month, the homegrown superstar, 41, is bringing his cafe brand to Singapore in a partnership with Marina Bay Sands. He had previously held two sold-out concerts there.

The cafe, which will open in 2023, will be located at the lobby of the ArtScience Museum, where JJ Lin performed on its roof in 2021 for the launch of Disney+. “Since this is our first time setting up a pop-up for Miracle Coffee, we wanted a scenic location that can stage the intimate scene of coffee lovers revelling in a smooth cup of coffee while soaking in views of my beautiful city,” he said in a statement.

But to whet your appetite before 2023, Miracle Coffee is doing a three-month pop-up kiosk at the Rain Oculus installation outside the museum, which overlooks the much-Instagrammed lily pond.

Here’s what to expect

According to MBS, the kiosk will serve “the concept’s signature range of famous pour overs and cold brews, as well as Americanos, cappuccinos, a variety of specialty lattes and a Singapore-exclusive beverage – Kaya Cloud.” Ooh.

The Kaya Cloud is created exclusively for the Singapore outlet, and is an “Americano-style coffee featuring fragrant fruity notes, brewed using single-origin espresso beans.” It’s topped with a “velvety fresh cream cap flavoured with kaya” and shaved gula melaka chips.

A variety of “single origin coffee beans from specialty coffee producers, including Panama, Kenya and Ethiopia” will be offered at the kiosk, and you can IG the baristas making the cafe’s signature single serve pour over up close. For those who are lactose-intolerant, there are also plant-based beverages like oat milk latte and soy latte.

Miracle Coffee’s pop-up runs from Sept 30 to Dec 29, 2022 outside the ArtScience Museum. More info at www.marinabaysands.com/restaurants/miracle-coffee.html and Instagram.
