Korean actor, 86, sentenced to 3 years in prison for sexually assaulting 20-year-old student

Isn’t three years a little light?

A 86-year-old Korean theater actor by the name of Sun, was found guilty of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old female student when he was a professor at an art university earlier in April.

According to the victim, Sun had called her into a room and tried to forcibly kiss her before going on to rape her.

He also told her: “I treat you like a woman.”

The harassment did not end there and Sun continued to contact the victim after the incident.

The female student is said to be deeply traumatised and is currently going through therapy.

This isn’t the first time Sun has harassed students. According to reports, there have been numerous occasions when he said to his victims “I don’t see you as a student” and “Why do you wear so much?”

Though Sun is set to serve a three-year jail term, and will have to undergo 40 hours of treatment as well as a five-year ban from working with children and youth, it seems the prosecution is not satisfied with the verdict and is expected to appeal for a harsher sentence.

Considering how this was not an isolated incident, we are surprised it took this long for the law to catch up with him.
