Li Bingbing, Coco Lee, Charlene Choi, Gillian Chung & Myolie Wu Rumoured To Be In 3rd Season Of Sisters Who Make Waves

Filming is slated to begin in early March.

After two wildly successful seasons, hugely popular Chinese reality competition Sisters Who Make Waves is set to return with a third installment.

According to reports, the show, which features famous female stars over the age of 30 competing to form a pop group, is slated to begin filming early March.

A rundown of the rumoured contenders went viral on Weibo yesterday (Jan 6) and wow, is it star-studded.

Some of the big names include Coco Lee, Li Bingbing, Cyndi Wang, Myolie Wu, Fiona Sit, Twins members Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung, who reportedly turned down the invite to participate in the second season, and the newly-minted Golden Horse Awards Best Actress winner Alyssa Chia.

Notably missing from the list were Carina Lau and Rene Liu, who were earlier linked to the show.

Netizens are not convinced that Alyssa Chia would participate in the show

While netizens were thrilled about the star-studded line-up, some were skeptical about Alyssa and Coco's involvement.

There were comments like "Alyssa Chia, really? She just won Best Actress award in Taiwan, surely there’s no need for her to participate in variety shows", and “Coco Lee is more qualified to be a judge”.

The popularity of the reality show spawned an equally successful brother version, Call Me By Fire, in November.

There is talk that a second season of Fire is underway as well as a version for grandpa-aged male stars.
