Li Nanxing’s IG Taken Over By Hacker Who Asked Actor’s Church Friend For A $40K Loan
So many scammers these days.
Oh dear, here we go again.
Li Nanxing’s Instagram account @lnxglobal_official was hacked in the wee hours of Jan 18.
The account, which doubles up as the official IG for Nanxing's artiste management agency LNX Global, had around 37,300 followers at last count.
According to a report by Lianhe Zaobao, Nanxing, 57, discovered that the account had been hacked at around 2am on Tuesday.
Stay alert, everyone
Shortly after, Nanxing's church friend contacted him to say that someone pretending to be the actor had approached him for a loan.
“Luckily my friend did not fall for it, but the amount that person asked was really significant,” Nanxing said, going on to reveal that the hacker had asked for a $40,000 loan.
But that wasn't the end of it, the hacker also emailed Nanxing to ask him to pay a "ransom" in exchange for the IG account.
The hacker, who goes by Akilla, provided a contact number with a UK country code.
“These hackers are really ‘smart’, but why aren’t they walking on the right path? To choose to do these harmful things, I hope that they will be able to wake up, and focus on doing things that are beneficial to society,” Nanxing said in frustration.
As of press time, it appears that @lnxglobal_official has been deleted. Nanxing has since started a new account, @lnx.global, which you can follow below.
