Lin Ching Hsia’s S$690mil Mansion In Hongkong Ravaged By Fire
Thankfully no one, including her 20 staff working there, was hurt in the fire.
Early this morning (July 8), Hongkong media reported that 67-year-old Taiwanese screen goddess Lin Ching Hsia’s mansion in the luxurious Kowloon Peak area had caught fire.
The 3,600sqm mansion is said to be her 60th birthday gift from her husband, Hongkong billionaire Michael Ying. In 2020, the abode was reported to be worth a whopping HK$4bil (S$690mil).
Some 20 of Ching Hsia's staff were seen evacuating the house when the fire started. Thankfully, the actress and her family were not at home and all her employees managed to escape unscathed.
Those who live near the mansion shared with reporters that they were able to smell the smoke from the fire all morning.
Some said they were awoken by the thick stench while others said the smell had yet to dissipate from the inside of their houses.

The house is said to be about the size of 35 HDB flats
One netizen on Facebook group “Hongkong accident reports” wrote that out of all the people working in the house, 18 of them are domestic helpers.
“It’s not surprising since [she’s] rich”, “18 workers plus a driver, that’s impressive”, and “I’ve worked there previously and the house has three elevators” were just some of the comments from netizens.
