We thought our matching gingham PJ sets and fluffy bedroom slippers were a cute bedtime look, until we watched It's Okay To Not Be Okay. In the recently-concluded hit Korean drama, volatile children's book author Ko Mun-Yeong (played by ant-waisted Seo Ye Ji) swans around her gloomy mansion in ethereal nightgowns... and heels. Sometimes stiletto heels. At home. That's the kind of OTT-ness we can only dream about.

Then you find out that in real life, these gowns are actually the latest frocks hot off the runway from designer labels like Fendi, Givenchy and Isabel Marant. Yes, her non-bedtime outfits in every episode of the show are almost Met Gala-worthy, but wearing Fendi Pre-Fall 2020 to snoozesville? That's a new level of extra that needs to be celebrated.

1 of 10 #1: When she woke up in this Cecilie Bahnsen frock.

In Ep 6, Ko Mun-Yeong rose and shone in this dress with dramatic puffy sleeves from Danish designer Cecilie Bahnsen, known for her billowy babydoll dresses. Luxurious.

2 of 10 Need this Cecilie Bahnsen frock, and we won't be wearing it to sleep.
3 of 10 #2: When she looks like she could be a sweet dream OR a nightmare in Isabel Marant.

Drapey French chic from the Isabel Marant Étoile collection that works as well in bed as on the streets of Paris, as demonstrated by Mun-Yeong in Ep 6. Who else loves how she manages to look so sweet and feminine, yet so menacing at the same time?

4 of 10 #3: When she almost floats in MINJUKIM.

Korean designer Minju Kim is the winner of Netflix’s Next in Fashion, and her clothes feature prominently in Netflix's It's Okay Not To Be Okay. But it's not just blind support for a sister brand — it works. MINJUKIM's billowing, oversized silhouette is perfect for Mun-Yeong's larger than life personality. And no, the giant dresses don't wear Seo Ye Ji — to her credit, she inhabits them with fierce aplomb. This gauzy nightgown is the stuff of fairy tales. Even Kim Soo Hyun is floored.

5 of 10 #4: When she's a vision in white in Fendi.

She goes to bed in a white tiered ruffled gown from Fendi’s Pre-Fall 2020 collection. She is Queen.

  • 6 of 10 #5: When she looks fresh as day in this mint green confection.

She woke up like this, and then went for brunch.

  • 7 of 10 #6: When she was sad in Givenchy.

More specifically, Givenchy Pre-Fall 2020. Only Ko Mun-Yeong could get away with wearing a hot-off-the-runway piece to sleep.

  • 8 of 10 #7: When she entranced in this be-ribboned dress from Lee Matthews.

So frail, so strong, Mun-Yeong is a character full of contradictions. And this jet-black dress made less severe with a sweet ribbon tie embodies that struggle. Love this outfit.

  • 9 of 10 #8: When she looked like she was going for high tea and then a nap in Fendi.

A swish Fendi ensemble that's cute and cosy.

  • 10 of 10 #9: When she's a fairy tale princess in your dreams in a vintage nightgown.

Rapunzel, Snow White or the White Witch? Whoever she is, only Ko Mun-Yeong — and Seo Ye Ji — could make you believe that she wears all these dreamy dresses to bed. Excuse us while we go shop for equally extra satin, tulle and lace nightgowns. Sweet dreams!
