This Maldives Resort Has A ‘Work From Paradise’ Promo; Includes Daily Kayaking Or Paddleboarding, Laundry Service, Unlimited Coffee & Other Perks

Feel like snorkelling during your lunch break? Yes, you can.

Working from a resort in the Maldives may have seemed like a ludicrous idea to most folks pre-pandemic. But as more companies embrace hybrid work arrangements in the new normal, going snorkelling in crystal-clear waters in the Maldives at lunch time may actually be a feasible idea for some folks now.

If working remotely from anywhere in the world is an option for you, here’s something to sweeten that deal: The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives' Stowaway package is designed to entice visitors to stay longer… by bringing their work to the Maldives — or should we say, bring some fun into their work from anywhere (WFA) work day?

Prices for an extended stay at the resort, which is a 35-min seaplane journey from Male airport, start from US$1,285 (S$1,786) for five nights, $2,570 for 10 nights, $3,600 for 14 nights and $6,000 for 28 nights. That works out to anything between US$214 to US$257 per night, depending on the length of your stay.

Like its name suggests, the Stowaway package is teeming with perks you need for a longer stay. Everyday things such as daily breakfast and unlimited house coffee from 2-5pm are covered, and the package comes with 20 per cent off all F&B too. Chores such as weekly laundry service are taken care of as well. And if you’re worried about your workout routine going out of whack while working away from home, fret not — there’s free access to gym and sports facilities, and yoga and wellness classes.

Then there are the perks that’ll let you humble-brag about that #digitalnomad life —  expect weekly house reef snorkel tours, free use of snorkelling equipment and 30 minutes of kayaking or paddleboarding daily, and 20 per cent of spa treatments.

The Standard chain of hotels has long been known for chic design that’s anything but standard — its outposts in New York and London are often faves among the hip crowd. The Standard in Maldives, however, is its first island property thus far, and features 115 villas — overwater, in the lagoon or on the beachfront — each with their own private lounge deck and pool. And if its reputation is anything to go by, you know you’re in for the most IG-worthy Zoom backdrop — without having to use a fake background.
