Michelle Chia & Addy Lee “Deeply Disappointed” With Pornsak's “Baseless” Suggestions About Their Live Streaming Company Mdada
They say his actions have not only hurt Mdada’s reputation and value, but also their employees.
Live streaming company Mdada and its co-founders Michelle Chia and celeb crimper Addy Lee, have issued a response following recent reports on former director and CEO Pornsak's resignation, saying they are “deeply disappointed” and “surprised” by his statements against the company.
On Jan 1, Pornsak, 40, announced on Instagram that he has left Mdada and shared that in the new year, he hopes to become the “ideal live-streamer”.
In his interview with AsiaOne, he attributed his departure to the “generation gap” with Michelle, 47, and Addy, 51, as well as "vast differences” in their points of view, “especially when it came to corporate governance”.
Well, these came as a surprise to Mdada, which claimed that Pornsak “did not state any of the matters he has now raised” when he tendered his resignation on Oct 25.
“On the contrary, he expressed his gratitude for the opportunity given to him in Mdada,” it said in a statement posted on Mdada and Addy’s Instagram accounts today (Jan 6).
Mdada also questioned the supposed "generation gap" Pornsak mentioned.
"Pornsak is himself 41 years of age come 14 January, 2023, and Michelle, 47, and Addy, 51. The age differences, however minor, would have been known to Pornsak when he started his collaboration with Michelle and Addy,” it said.
The company was also “deeply concerned” by Pornsak's suggestions that Mdada or its key shareholders are untrustworthy with customers’ purchases or lacking in corporate governance.
"Such suggestions are wholly untrue and baseless,” it retorted.
It acknowledged that while there may be occasions where orders are delayed or cancelled due to factors outside of Mdada’s control (such as logistics delays due to weather or COVID-19 controls imposed by countries), as CEO, "the proper execution of Mdada’s operations (including the management of customers’ orders and customer expectations as well as corporate governance) would have been matters fully within Pornsak’s scope of work and responsibilities"."Deeply disappointed" with Pornsak
Lastly, it added the company as well as Michelle and Addy are “deeply disappointed” that Pornsak has chosen to go public with company matters without first giving them a chance to address his alleged concerns.
“That Pornsak chose to do so even though he was former director and Chief Executive Officer and remains a shareholder is even more hurtful. This episode has not only affected Mdada’s reputation and value, but also hurt Michelle, Addy and all employees… Only Pornsak will be able to explain why he decided to do so.”
It added that it would continue to investigate on the matter and thanked Pornsak for his contributions.
