Yuki’s boyfriend, Sampson Liew, 23, told the media that the suspect had been wooing her for two years.

She was initially hesitant to meet him but agreed out of kindness.

Sampson said Yuki texted him when she arrived at the restaurant, but felt something was amiss when he could not reach her at around 5.30pm.

He went to the salon where she was supposed to have an eyelash appointment at 2pm but was told she did not show up.

It was only when he went to the restaurant where Yuki and the suspect met for lunch that he found out about the stabbing.

Yuki and Sampson had plans to get married

Sampson and Yuki began dating in March this year and had just done a couple photo shoot the day before the murder.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Sampson reminisced their happy times together and the plans they made for the future.

"I made a pact to take you to Iceland for our honeymoon, to see your favourite Northern Lights. We made a pact to get married, have children, and take care of them together. We planned what kind of wedding photos to take when we officially get married. We even planned to go to our 'baby's' first sports event together this Saturday, and had already chosen what to wear. We also promised not to leave each other behind,” he wrote.
