M'sian woman jailed 1 year for cheating Jacky Cheung fans out of S$128,000 worth of concert tickets

Did she honestly think she could have gotten away with it?

Earlier this year, concert tickets to all six shows of the Jacky Cheung 60+ Concert Tour at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur were sold out in under two hours, causing fans to turn to scalpers for another chance at tickets.

However, Malaysian Tan Siew Kian, 40, saw this as her chance to run off with some quick cash, lying to desperate fans that she has tickets to the God of Song's concerts.

In the end, Siew Kian managed to cheat fans out of a total of RM441,828 (S$128,000) before the victims turned to the police, resulting in her arrest on Aug 12.

Though Siew Kian initially pleaded not guilty earlier in August, she was unable to foot the bail of RM30,000 (S$8,700) and was detained.

On Nov 5, she returned to court, changed her plea and was sentenced to a year in jail.
