Museum Of Ice Cream Now Has A Nighttime Concept For Adults Only; Includes Cocktails, Games & A Lot Of Ice Cream

Cocktails, sweet treats and Insta-opps galore.

If you’re struggling to find new date night ideas, the Museum of Ice Cream (MOIC) Singapore has a proposition for you: Go on a date at this pink IG haven, savour some (or a lot of) ice cream, sip on cocktails, and get to know each other in new ways (get your mind out of the gutter — nothing NSFW going on here).

Some six months since its opening at Dempsey, MOIC is introducing Night at the Museum, a new nighttime concept for adults only (yes, there’s an age limit of 18 for this).

While daytime jaunts at MOIC (Thur to Sun, 10am to 5.30pm) promise to be a family-friendly affair, it’s all about making connections at the Night at the Museum experience, which runs on Thursdays to Sundays from 6pm til late (last admission at 8pm) and will take about 60 to 90 minutes.

Tickets for Night at the Museum at MOIC are priced at $48, slightly pricier than the daytime tix which cost $38 to $42 per pax. But, hey, you get additional boozy fun in kid-free environs.

No, the venue isn't turning into a bar at night. Instead, there are additional nighttime activities and cocktails in store when you buy a ticket to Night at the Museum. You'll get a Cone-nection Cube card that has tasks for you and your partner or friends to complete as you explore the 65,000 sq ft pinker-than-pink premises.

Don’t worry, the tasks won’t make you feel like you’re at a team bonding activity or bring back memories of orientation camp.

Perky MOIC staff (seriously, these folks give the Uniqlo crew a run for their money) will guide you through these easy-to-complete fun tasks that are all meant to help you to open up and make memories together.

We won’t give it all away, but let’s just say you’ll need your phone and a sprinkle of creativity for this. Complete all the tasks and you’ll be rewarded with a shot and a cocktail at the alfresco café and bar after the experience.

As with the regular admission, you get unlimited servings of ice cream — it runs the gamut from retro potong ice cream to lime mojito scoops — in every other room as you explore the 14 immersive installations in MOIC.

However, at the nighttime experience, you can look forward to additional boozy fun at Scream’s Diner (yup, the room with the cool old-school jukebox). Specifically, a Hendrick’s Lunar Gin cocktail that’s a refreshing concoction of agave, cucumber, apple and lime (a mocktail version is available for teetotalers too).

Also on the agenda at Night at the Museum: a card game to help you really get to know each other on this date night like no other. No, not strip poker.

‘Where Should We Begin – A Game of Stories’ is a sold-out card game lets you discover new things about yourself and your partner or friends. Yes, secrets will be divulged.

Your final stop of the night is the cute alfresco café and bar, where you can claim your celebratory shot and complimentary cocktails.

And yes, even the cocktails are photo-worthy — there’s a sparkly gin-based Summer Oasis concoction and a bright Pink-a-Colada fruity cooler that taste as good as they look. If the date’s going well and you fancy more tipples, there are craft beers from local brewery Brewlander, wines, and milkshakes available on the menu as well. The café and bar is also open to public, so you don't need a ticket to enter.

Museum of Ice Cream is at 100 Loewen Road. Open Thur to Sun 10am-10pm (Closed Mon to Wed), Night at the Museum runs Thur to Sun 6pm-10pm. Tix and more info here.
