TVB actress Nancy Wu’s Instagram feed basically shows how much of a fitness freak she is, with the 40-year-old often sharing pics of her at the gym or trying out different sports.

Earlier this week, Nancy posted snaps of herself at the tennis court with her dad, writing: “I’m so happy that I finally found a ball game that I’m interested in! Most importantly, I’m able to learn, play and exercise with my daddy [and we now have] one more thing to talk about.”

Netizens were impressed with how fit Nancy's dad looked and how it’s so rare for people of Nancy's age to want to spend time with their parents.

That led to discussion about Nancy's relationship with her folks and how filial the actress is.

According to reports, Nancy's parents used to run a very popular seafood shop in Sai Wan. It's said that the future star grew up in the lap of luxury but a drastic decrease in customers led to the shop's closure years later.

Nancy started working when she was in Form 6, which is equivalent to year two in junior college in a Singapore context, to help with her family's finances.

In 2001, a 20-year-old Nancy won the TVB Cover Girl competition which marked her first step into showbiz.

She worked her way up from the bottom and spent a decade playing supporting roles before hitting the big time. It's said that when Nancy finally managed to saveup enough money, the first thing she did was to buy a HK$11mil (S$1.9mil) mansion for her parents so they could live comfortably in their golden years.
