On his 38th birthday (Aug 28) this year, Hong Kong actor Him Law took to Instagram to share some pics of him and his family.

The actor has a daughter, Hera, two, and a nine-month-old son with Hong Kong actress Tavia Yeung whom he married in 2016.

But what got netizens talking wasn't the couple's home, which reportedly costs S$7.1K a month to rent, but where Tavia and Him took their photos.

In the pics, Hera sits in an inflatable pool while Him playfully squirts his daughter with a water gun. Next to them is Tavia who is holding their son up and making cheeky faces at him. 

"What day is it today?" wrote the actor, who added "happiness is just so simple" as a hashtag.

Tavia also left a comment on Him's post, writing: "Happy birthday to the boss of my family. Hope you'll always be healthy, handsome, suave and happy." She also added a lot of heart emojis.

Even with all that sweetness going on, fans somehow only zeroed in on the float that was used in the background.

And why was that?

Turns out, the float can be bought on Taobao for 600 yuan (S$121), which then led netizens to praise the couple for being thrifty.
