Lalisa, the much-awaited solo album of Blackpink's Lisa debuted with a bang on September 10.

The music video for the title track racked up more than 73.6 million views on YouTube in 24 hours, setting a new record for the most views for a solo artiste in one day. It then went on to hit the 100 million views milestone in 49 hours and 6 minutes.

But the track’s catchy beat and Lisa’s killer dance moves aren’t the only things to capture the attention of netizens.

It's been said that in one of the promo pics for ‘Lalisa’, the 24-year-old Thai-born star looks uncannily like 49-year-old Mandopop diva A-Mei circa 1998 aka when she released her smash hit album Holding Hands (see pic below).

Not only do the singers sport similar long black hair and bangs, they are also wearing black tank tops, black platform boots, and cuffs on their left wrists.

In fact, Chinese netizens say that they have long noticed that Lisa radiates a similar aura to a young A-Mei.

Fans of the Taiwanese singer also say that when they saw the pic of Lisa, they felt as though they had time-travelled back to 1998 .

Even A-Mei’s long-time manager, Edward Chan, was amazed by the similarities.

It's almost exactly the same, he said.
