Nicholas Tse Went From Celeb Face Of Chinese Sports Brand XTEP To Shareholder

It was previously reported that the XTEP shares he bought grew by S$9.8mil in a year.

Nicholas Tse, who has endorsed Chinese sports brand XTEP for the last 20 years, recently made an appearance at an event celebrating the “top 10 economic figures of the year” in China, where he spoke about his confidence in Chinese brands.

The 41-year-old took the stage together with the CEO of XTEP, Ding Shuibo, and revealed why he chose to stick with the company for the past two decades.

“Our collaboration came about very naturally. I think at the end of the day, it’s ‘cos of the way we do things. For CEO Ding, as well as XTEP, I think the way they work is very practical, with no exaggeration and false hype. So, it’s only natural that we've worked together for 20 years,” he said.

Ding Shuibo went on to reveal that Nicholas has “upgraded" his status, and is now an official shareholder of the brand.

In response, Nicholas attempted to deflect the attention on him, and would only say that he holds “a very, very small” number of shares.

He also declined to answer when the host asked how much he’s earned from his shares in XTEP.

Previous reports had shared that Nicholas forked out HK$12.4mil (S$2.14mil) to buy five million shares of the company in July 2020.

A year later, in Sep 2021, it was reported that his shares grew by an estimated S$9.8mil.’
