Of the many babies born on National Day every year, there are few who are as famous as Fann Wong and Christopher Lee’s son, Zed, who turned seven yesterday (Aug 9). Also, isn't it just poetic that the only kid of two of Singapore's biggest stars shares the same birthday as the nation?

Every year, Fann and Chris are sure to mark the occasion with a party, however, it was a little different this time around.

Chris had flown to Taiwan in early August for work, and was therefore unable to celebrate Zed’s birthday in person.

Nevertheless, the couple made things work for them, with Fann preparing a very special gift for Zed's seventh birthday.

Chris had previously revealed in an IG Live session with fellow celebs Chen Hanwei, Shaun Chen and Zhang Yaodong that Zed’s really into science.

So what did Fann and Chris give Zed? A special ant colony kit from Just Ants, a brick-and-mortar store in Singapore dedicated to ant-keeping.

Apart from that, Fann, Zed and Chris also got together to take a photo together to mark the special occasion. Only, instead of taking a screen shot of the video call as they’d done previously, Fann and Chris showed off their editing skills with this picture.

Happy National Day to all, and Happy Birthday to dear Zed” Fann wrote, adding in Chinese: “No matter how far apart [we are], we still must be together”.

After all, home is where the heart is right?
