Insta-Buzz: What The Stars Were Up To This Week
Here are some of our favourite snaps from the past week.
Things were a little quieter on social media this week ‘cos of the newly implemented Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) restrictions, but we still managed to find some stuff that caught our eye.
The Twelve Cupcakes co-founder was fined S$65,000 on Friday for underpaying seven employees for over three years, and it looks like some people have taken the news as an excuse to unleash some unpleasantness upon Daniel.
“Everytime I go to court, I get hundreds of Dms that flame and slam me. Really so much time hoh? (sic)” the former radio DJ wrote in an IG Stories post.
He also shared a negative Google review panning his steakhouse for “slow service and average food”, which the customer blamed on “lousy ownership”.
The drama continued when Daniel shared a screenshot from a news article claiming that he “muttered an expletive under his breath” to photographers while leaving the courthouse. According to the journalist, he said “f*** y’all”, but Daniel clarified that he had actually said “Get a life guys, geeze”.

Sadly, things haven’t been easy for healthcare workers at Tan Tock Seng Hospital after news of the COVID-19 cluster there started spreading, with many of its staff facing discrimination from the public.
Eager to spread some positivity, Rui En and her fanclub RBKD embarked on a project to cheer on these brave frontliners by making a cute appreciation poster for them. The actress herself was closely involved in the design process, which took about three weeks including printing.
Rui En also had a lovely message to share to these “silent angels”, which you can read below:

Well, here’s a helpful tip for the rest of us before going for our injections, as shared by the host: “Keep your arm down and relaxed during your vaccination. It should be less painful.”
Apparently, the prick Belinda felt from her jab was “pretty intense” ‘cos she had put her arm up and, um, ‘cos it was “toned”. “It’s during times like this you wish you don’t have such developed muscle,” she quipped.
Does that mean the rest of us who aren’t as fit don’t have anything to worry about?

When your father’s a literal billionaire, we imagine it can probably get pretty tough trying to plan a memorable birthday celebration for him, but Kim seems to have pulled it off by ordering at least 10 cakes of different shapes and sizes. Did they actually manage to finish all of it!?
Also, this is the clearest recent shot we’ve seen of her son Kyden. Doesn’t he look like such a cutie?

Well, this is the most intense home-based learning scene we’ve seen. On Friday, Darren posted this photo of his daughter Kristen conducting a biology lesson for her three younger brothers by dissecting a bullfrog… right between the rice cooker and stove. Guess we all gotta make do during #P2HA.

Who says funky dye jobs are only for the young? The 60-year-old actress recently went purple for the very first time for an upcoming drama role, and we have to say that she’s totally rocking it.
“It’s a good thing my hair was completely white and could be coloured without bleaching, so the process was quick and painless, but I’m still not very used to it at the moment,” she wrote. We wonder what other hues she will try next.

The former Mediacorp actress has certainly come a long way from the days when she refused to show her Japanese husband Tomoyo’s face to the public.
The couple was recently featured in a local Chinese publication, and although Tomoyo had no idea what was written about him, he was just excited to see his face in a magazine for the first time. So cute.

According to the actress, she accidentally slipped in the bath while showering her daughter about a week ago. Although she didn’t go into detail about the extent of her injuries, she shared that she was “finally able to manage a short walk” on Thursday, which sounds like she might’ve been out of commission for a few days.
Take care, Joanne, and be more careful next time!

Zed’s clearly into lion dances these days. Aside from showing up on his dad Christopher Lee’s episode of The Inner Circle wearing the costume, the spunky six-year-old has also been learning lion dance drumming, which his mum Fann Wong proudly filmed to share online (twice).
And he’s actually really good at it, as you can see in the clip below. One netizen even asked Fann if she watched a lot of lion dance performances when she was pregnant with her son ‘cos of his natural talent, to which she replied, “I often think that too…”

While Chor Meng and Dennis Chew’s mookata stall will have to be closed during #P2HA, the former’s pao fan biz is still thriving thanks to group buys, and boy is the demand for the comforting rice dish high, judging from the number of packets they prepared for their first order.

Yup, the actress and her older daughter Olethea both share the same May 18 birthday, and while #P2HA has made big parties impossible, they still decided to get into the mood by decorating the house with huge balloons.
“I’ve always been very lucky to be surrounded by friends and family on my birthday, but this day has been given new meaning by Baby O when she came into my life this day 4 years ago,” Constance wrote in her sweet tribute. “Very grateful to share this day with you, my first baby, and looking forward to see you grow up happy and healthy. You are truly my best birthday present. Happy birthday to us!”

The twins’ 520 Day posts were a little different from the rest as May 20 is also their dad’s birthday. How adorable were they as babies? We especially love that shot of Hayley’s (far left) sassy eyebrow raise.
