Jayley Woo’s Dog Suffers From Asthma And Heart Problems; Vet Says It “May Go Anytime”
Get well soon, Bui Bui.
Twin sisters Jayley and Hayley Woo are hoping for the best for their pet pomeranian, Bui Bui.
According to Jayley, they had brought the eight-year-old pooch to the vet because it had a cough that wouldn't go away and had started to lose its appetite.
The 28-year-olds took to Bui Bui’s Instagram page to update followers on what's happening to the dog. Writing from the perspective of Bui Bui, they said: “I’m not feeling too well recently, so both my mummies, Ah Gong and Ah Ma brought me to see Dr Rachel. Hopefully these medicine will help me feel better soon…”
The three videos showed Bui Bui getting a check-up (FYI: Zoe Tay and Desmond Tan’s respective dogs see the same vet too), and looking all confused at the end of it.
“I want to just hold your hand and never let go. Can love be forever innocent without sadness?” she wrote.
“I understand how you feel.” a fan empathised. “I guess you are very afraid of losing [Bui Bui] for a reason.” To which Hayley replied, “Yes”.
“Press on, Hayley! You’ve gotta believe that Bui Bui will get well!” another encouraged.
When 8days.sg reached out to Jayley, she revealed that Bui Bui’s suffers from “asthma and heart problems”, which is “common in small dogs due to their small airways”.
“When he gets excited, which is quite often, he would pant and cough,” Jayley explained over WhatsApp, adding that he has had this problem for years.
What made her decide to bring him to the vet on Sunday (Oct 4) was when Bui Bui started to lose his appetite and his cheerful disposition.
“He panted for a long time, and his cough sounded [weird] which was why we got worried. The doctor ended up giving him antibiotics,” Jayley told us.
However, our conversation took a slightly sombre turn after we asked Jayley if Bui Bui’s condition is serious enough to be life threatening.
“The vet said he may go anytime…” Jayley trailed off. “I cried on the car ride back.”
After seeing Jayley break down, her parents resolved to never get another dog again.
“My parents have yet to show [any feelings] towards the situation, but they did mention not to get another dog next time,” Jayley said.
Thankfully, Bui Bui’s doing well now.
“He’s been better, normal again. He wants food, and is wagging his tail,” she said before sending us a photo of a perkier Bui Bui.
