Yao Wenlong’s 5-Year-Old Daughter Joins Modelling Competition
He says his daughter likes to perform and is also very vain for her age.
On Instagram yesterday (Oct 21), Wenlong revealed that his five-year-old daughter Luohui has joined a modelling competition in Malaysia (where he and his family are currently living), urging his followers to vote for her.
“I would like to trouble everyone to help vote for 038 Yow Ming En,” he wrote on Instagram, along with instructions on how to vote. In case you're wondering why his daughter has two names, well, Ming En is the girl's birth name, but he calls her Luohui for “religious purposes”.
“The reason we let her join the contest is because she loves to perform!” Wenlong tells us. “She likes to dance and sing at home and in school. Sometimes, we would record her and she’d QC it. If she’s not happy with her performance, she would ask us to delete and record again.”
Wenlong and his wife, Jenny Tsai, 38, decided to enter Luohui into the competition after his friend, who was the organiser, encouraged them to do so “for the fun of it”.
Louhui was very thrilled when we asked if she wanted to look pretty and take photos! Wenlong revealed. She was so happy and couldn't wait!
However, when the day of the photoshoot arrived, Luohui suddenly became very shy as she was surrounded by strangers she had never met before. But after taking a couple of shots, she started to feel more comfortable in front of the camera.
“As she isn’t in school yet, we thought it was the best time for her to experience this. Besides, it was safe as we got to accompany her throughout the shoot,” said Wenlong, who added that Luohui is “very vain” for her age.
“She likes to dress up and look pretty. Whenever her mum puts on make-up, she would be really curious and fiddle with the items like the eyeliner,” Wenlong laughed.
Of course, being in showbiz himself, Wenlong is fully aware that this small brush with fame doesn’t mean little Luohoi would want to be a star in the future.
“After all, she’s only five. Still very young. It’s just an experience. This competition is for fun, it doesn’t matter if we win or lose!” chuckled Wenlong.
