2AM's Im Seulong Involved In Car Accident That Killed Jaywalker
He is currently under police investigation.
Korean news outlet Star News has reported that 2AM member Im Seulong, 33, was involved in a car accident that killed a pedestrian on the night of August 1 in Seoul. It was said to be raining heavily when the accident occurred.
According to the report, the pedestrian was jaywalking when Seulong’s car hit him, and he later died from the injuries. It was also said that the road was slippery due to the heavy downpour. After the accident, Seulong was briefly questioned by the police and then sent home. Investigations are still ongoing.
The singer-actor made his showbiz debut with 2AM in 2008. The group went on an indefinite hiatus in 2015 when Seulong and his fellow bandmate, Jeong Jinwoon, decided against renewing their contracts with their label JYP Entertainment. All four members of the group have since left JYP.
In 2010, Seulong made his transition to acting, and has starred in dramas like Personal Taste. He is currently signed to Jellyfish Entertainment. His management has stated that they are looking into the case, though they've not issued a formal statement at press time.
