Andy Lau And His Daughter Have Been Taking Art Classes Together And Their Paintings Are Really Lovely
The Heavenly King shared a special video in celebration of his fan club’s 32nd anniversary.
It isn’t easy staying relevant — much less popular — in showbiz for long, but everybody knows that Heavenly King Andy Lau is way past the point of worrying about the longevity of his career. In fact, his official fan club, Andy World Club, just celebrated its 32nd anniversary.
While the 58-year-old star and his supporters would organise gatherings for special occasions from time to time, a face-to-face meet-up with his fans was obviously out of the question this year ‘cos of the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, technology was there to save the day, and Andy put together a special 20-minute video for his fans.
In addition to performing five songs and showing exclusive trailers for his upcoming movies, Andy showed off several paintings that he and his eight-year-old daughter Hanna had made while taking online art classes together. One of the pieces, which features a heart against a black and red background, was a birthday present for his wife, Malaysian former beauty queen Carol Chu.
The singer-actor was clearly overflowing with fatherly pride while talking about his little girl’s artwork, praising her for being a much better artist than he is.
Andy also set aside a few minutes to answer questions from fans. When asked about his top three favourite movie roles, he admitted that he would love to revisit his characters in A Moment of Romance, Lee Rock, and Love on a Diet, although he laughed that it would be too difficult to put on so much weight for that last one (we guess he could always put on another fatsuit?).
While jotting down memories, Andy looked back on the times that his concerts had to be called off either because of a throat infection or the coronavirus outbreak. He then came to the realisation that he has more wrinkles around his eyes and white hair on his head — he is pushing 60, after all — but instead of despairing, he turned it into a tender moment by declaring that no matter how much things may change, what will stay the same is the love between him and his loyal devotees.
No wonder fans adore this guy so much.
