Barbie Hsu’s Husband Posts Family Photo To Quash Marriage Trouble Rumours; Sparks Pregnancy Talk Instead

Remember what we said about netizens using celebs' social media interactions — or lack thereof — as a way to speculate on how well they’re getting along? If you have a lot of pictures of your SO on your feed, it’s safe to say that things are good, but if you don't, get ready for the outside world to start whispering about the possible demise of your relationship.

The latter is precisely what recently happened to Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu and her husband, Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei. Yesterday (Jun 23), Xiaofei shared several photos of himself with a large group of friends, who had gathered to celebrate his birthday in advance.

However, the conspicuous absence of his wife immediately raised questions and doubts about the current state of their marriage. Some users also pointed out that it’s been half a year since Barbie last showed up on his socials, further fuelling the rumours about trouble in paradise.

Later that night, as if he was shutting down the gossip, Xiaofei uploaded a photo (see below) of himself and Barbie at their six-year-old daughter Hsi-Yueh’s kindergarten graduation ceremony (see below) with the caption, “Pretty baby, beautiful mummy, and silly daddy.”

While most netizens praised Barbie’s good looks and marvelled at their little girl’s striking resemblance to Xiaofei (they seriously have the same eyes!), a few others mentioned that Barbie appears to have put on weight. She was also suspected of being pregnant with their third child.

We’re just tossing out a guess here, but those rather uncouth remarks probably might have had something to do with Xiaofei’s sudden decision to delete the photo. One observant netizen even claimed that comments on Barbie’s presumed pregnancy had disappeared as well.

If the pregnancy rumours really do turn out to be true, though, let’s hope that it’s a much smoother-sailing one for the 43-year-old, who unfortunately had to terminate her previous pregnancy as doctors were unable to detect a heartbeat and determined that the foetus was “not fully developed”.
