All eyes on are Hongkong actress Cecilia Cheung now, with her performance in the variety show Sisters Who Make Waves being the talk of the town, for better or for worse. After all, the 40-year-old is television gold, with every single one of her moves scrutinised by netizens.

And for the past few weeks, netizens have been extra fixated on Cecilia’s very complicated relationship with fellow contestant, Chinese singer Na Ying. You see, Na Ying is super close to fellow Chinese singer Faye Wong, who has quite the history with Ceci, as her former “love rival”.

Thus, with such awkwardness between them, it would stand to reason that both Na Ying and Cecilia would do their best to avoid each other on the show, right?

Well, it turns out that Cecilia has other plans. For the past few weeks, Cecilia has been trying valiantly to team up with Na Ying for their group performances, only to get rejected.

Oh, and this isn’t a one-off incident. As it turns out, Cecilia’s been rejected twice by Na Ying so far.

But it appears that third time’s the charm for the persistent actress.

In the preview for an upcoming episode, Cecilia and Na Ying are shown to be in the same team, at long last.

For the latest group performance, the contestants appear to be split into three groups, with one led by Na Ying, and the other two led by Chinese singer Bibi Zhou and Hongkong singer Joey Yung. Unexpectedly, most of the other contestants appeared more interested in joining Bibi’s team, with Na Ying left alone.

And this is where Cecilia comes in. This time round, Na Ying is way more enthusiastic, gesturing for Ceci to come over when it’s Cecilia’s turn to make her decision. Cecilia agrees, and the duo, who are finally in the same team, briefly embrace.
